Don’t you love it? Getting little surprises in the mail so frequently this time of year. Oh dear, do I! I just love it so much. Little notes from our peeps in different parts of the world. All sweet and somewhat similar sentiments inside, but the range of creativity and personality runs the gamut. I like to try to guess who’s it is before I read the names. I wonder if friends do that with ours. Kind of like a signature. Except, maybe I change it up too much. But! What if that’s my signature. ha!
This year, Minted helped us up our card game with gold foil. I can’t get enough of gold foil lately. I want it everywhere, including your mailboxes. We used a simple photo from the holiday photo shoot we did with Sarah and let the gold stand out. I’m quite in love with the simplicity of it.
But then, it seemed a little too simple for the likes of Annie, so I threw a little DIY in there – a mini envelope that holds gift tags, small notes, or really whatever your imagination wants to fit in there. (I’ve actually sent envelopes this size in the mail, but I’ve built a reputation with the mail peeps in certain US neighborhoods.)
+ thick 8.5 x 11 paper to print template on
+ pretty paper to make envelopes out of
+ pencil to trace your envelope body
+ cute scissors to make you cut better
+ glue stick to..well, glue.
+ print off the template onto thick paper
+ using the prettiest paper you have, trace the solid, outside lines of your template
+ cut along the edges to get your envelope body
+ fold along dotted lines
– left flap towards the middle
– right flap towards the middle toooo
+ glue one flap over the other
+ fold up the bottom flap and glue it on top
Now, you have your envelope!
+ fill it with more paper and fold over the top flap
+ seal it with glue or washi tape!
Stay tuned for the gift tags later this week!
peace + joy + love,
